Groovylips

Groovylips draw deep inspiration from the vibrant culture of Broome and the wider Kimberley region. Their music is a celebration of the area's rich Aboriginal heritage, spirituality, and storytelling traditions. Influenced by the rhythms of Country and the deep connection to land and sea, Groovylips channel the colours, textures, and spirit of the natural environment into their sound. The band’s creative energy is grounded in the cultural fusion and raw beauty that make the Kimberley so unique.

Groovylips is a world fusion ensemble, combining didjeridoo, slide guitar, guitar, vocals, keys, percussion and loops.

HEMISPHERES

With the world in lockdown throughout 2020 musicians have looked beyond their home horizons to find new opportunities.

Hemispheres is a spellbinding EP created by musicians from Australia and the UK who've utilised technology to collaborate from both sides of the world, resulting in an uplifting and optimistic response for 2021 and the future.

The Dartmoor & North-West Australian-inspired soundscapes meld electronics with live sounds of the didgeridoo, flute, reeds, upright piano, rhythm sticks and etherial vocals.

Hemispheres shadows the human relationship with our closest star, moving from Dawn, through an Adrenaline driven day, to an ecliptic Dusk. Prepare to be invigorated by the lightness yet depth of sound here, resonating through the spiritual heartbeat of aboriginal Australia with the cool breath of misty, timeless, Dartmoor.

Groovylips & the Yang
